Just found this picture on Reddit. Looks like the same model, that is 2016 Epiphone SG Special. It seems that Epiphone had a batch of these bridges. That kind of metal is pejoratively called Chinesium
I have a suspicion that most cheap guitar hardware is made of it. I've seen pictures of bass bridges breaking like that. The alternative though is buying "boutique" stuff. I'm not paying $100-200 for a guitar bridge

I had a really cheap Hondo II Les Paul and was awoken by the sound of the tailpiece snapping in the middle of the night.
