Check out this SG!

Post by ROBERT(OG) »

I went to a "punk vs. metal BBQ" yesterday and one of the bands ( Hans Condor) were pretty good. I bought one Album before I heard them just going off of a conversation I had with one of the members, they played, they rocked, I bought a second album. but that's not really why we are here is it?
what I wanted to show off was this dudes SG. its fucking WILD! He had it custom made by a luthier in Nashville Tennessee. I was standing around with a few other guitarists and I noticed within 30 seconds. "hey! that thing doesn't have a toggle switch!"
and then the more obvious "that thing doesn't have any knobs!"
and then the moment of sheer rock and roll realization hit me.
this fucking guitar has 3 humbuckers all wired DIRECTLY to the output jack! its all rock, all the time! (I did ask him if one of the pickups was out of phase or how it all worked, he had no idea.)

I'm guessing the neck and middle pickups are just dummies not wired up? I've never heard a 3 pickup guitar sound the best with all 3 on at once.

I don't think he knows, but he might have an idea of what he was talking about, he did say something about 2 were out of phase from each other, and those were noise cancelling. but I'm not sure if MAYBE it isn't more like a S/H configuration with 3 humbucker covers,(a single under the neck/middle) and a humbucker in the bridge? I waited until he was done loading out his gear to try and ask him about it, but there were 15 other folks trying to get merch, give him beer, smokes, whatever so everytime he would start to tell me about it, we would get interrupted. Im sure I could get his contact info rather easily and bother him about it. but I doubt he wants to do a whole fucking write up, report style, about his guitar for a short hairy Beardo he met at an all ages, outdoor punk show at a brewery in Lafayette Indiana.

Haha yeah for sure, just speculating. It does look sweet in a ridiculous way.

If they’re using a volume pedal they’re a total poser.

I am almost certain he wasn't. I think I saw a joyo tuner, and a boss od-1.
but that would be rather funny. have a treadle pedal for vol. and tone on your pedal board with independent on/off stomps for the pickups.
