This is my first jazzmaster, so having fun learning all the setup tricks everyone figured out on here a million years ago.

I might end up changing the witch hats out. They're a little proud for my usual strumming position.

I have several bronco-esque knobs I scored from Sloan about 15 years ago that I only recently found. If you're interested, I'll post pics. They don't have numbers on them, just an arrow as I believe they were pulled from an old fender PA amp.

that thing looks amazing, how do you like the bensonite bridge? I noticed it and was going to ask but when I went back through and read I was able to see that and I like that the dropped rhythm switch.

That's kind of you to offer! I think I want something shorter in profile. Or just tiny, maybe I'll give mustang knobs a go, or perhaps cream cupcakes? I have a slightly bent ring finger that pokes out a bit, and my default strumming position is always ready to palm mute on the bridge (I sometimes whack the volume on my jag also)...

I was attracted to it because I love a heavy chunk of metal, and it seemed like it would be the most comfortable under the hand! I haven't tried out the trem proper yet, but it certainly grips and moves with the strings.
It's steel saddles on a brass base, and combined with the pickups and the 1k pots. Clang city! The bridge is great. I am tracking down a few buzzes, but it mostly seems to be the knackered frets more than any of the other hardware. As I mentioned before, the whole guitar is really resonant, very happy.

I feel like there for a while there was an arms race on who could perfect the Jaguar/jazzmaster style bridge. And I saw plenty of positive reviews for every single one of them (like 3 major companies and then a few smaller overseas versions) I have not bitten the full bullet and gone the way of mastery, bentonite or Halycon(sp?) Guyker can get all the way fucked as far as I'm concerned. I think I have tried out 3 different bridges and 2 different vibrato units. 1 vibrato was for myself and its a version of the bigsby, hate it. one of the bridges that I got seemed badass at first, roller bridge. but after... maybe 2 years I noticed my G, and D strings choking out. the damn bridge lost its radius and had bent "flat" just from string tension.

I'll die on the hill that the jaguar bridge is fine and imo even better that the rattle-y mustang bridge

ah, makes sense. my own playing style makes the chrome bridge covers (which i truly appreciate aesthetically) a non-starter for me when playing.

If I were married, kids, house payment in the burbs and all of the Midwest middle class perks a person could want, but then found myself 300 miles away in a strange land and met this young lass. Well, I do believe I would run away with this guitar and leave my old life behind.
