Fender copied the Faux Xii

It amazes me how squier can do all this for a guitar.....bust out the Coronado jig, then paint it, then put a new custom decal on it......

And then on something like a Mexican fender jaguar they put literally the shittiest, smallest decal on it, tell it to fuck off and send it out to retail.

Not gonna disagree but IMO everyone who cares about that probably buys Squier nowadays anyway. They've been far more interesting for many years. As for that new '51 style thing, worst thing about it is it's not a '51 so it's not hardtail. The sunburst one would look classy if you change the white hardware to something else. LPB has potential too. Anyhow, not committing to buying one of these right now but I love the idea and am looking forward to seeing real world impressions.

They're calling that the "Paranormal Stratocaster® Deluxe" rather than a '51 (although they obvs have similarities).

so this guy thinks that after 30 years of fender not listening to anyone not named kurt cobain or ryan jarman.....30 years of us cobbling together shit, the offset.com dudes getting mega fucking snooty where the fucking reproduction jaguar tail plate goes and if its 2mm forward or backward too far from the bridge making entire lines of guitars be ignored by 10's of people.....them putting out that one modified squier telecaster with the j-mascus neck in disguise and 1 jazzmaster pickup for like a year, never making enough for anyone to see in a guitar center more than once.....the fender that made TELECASTER TENOR guitars for namm and then fucking only sold them on pre-order so no one ever got to play one in a shop before they spent a paycheck on one....that fender that has zero wherewithal about ANYTHING that people actually want.....that fender watched this guys youtube where he took my CME purple squier jaguar and instead of putting mustang pickups in it like I did, he put mustang bass pickups in it and Fender is copying his youtube with this new Squier Electric VI......

I agree though it's obviously a reach to believe Fender copied anyone on this design. It's much more likely they were able to arrive at this design themselves by combining lots of aspects of different guitars from their back catalogue just like I did. It's basically what they have been doing for years especially with the paranormal series.

I would bet the scale length is so they could use an unmodified Fender Xii guard with out modifying the look too much. With a shorter scale, like mine the Mustang trem has to sit further into the guard. The Headstock is an odd choice also. I would really like one but I have zero use for another guitar.
