Hmm, not in love with the grey I got hold of (sprayed on an old scratchy for test purposes), not really dark enough, although it looks darker in person.

I think I'm gonna wait until I get it all routed and together before deciding- I peeled the plastic back a bit off the scratchy and the shinyshiny black matches the pickups lovelylyly.

All that remains is for the 3-way to turn up in the normal post today, and for me to send the scratchy off to Hurb to get routed!

Strung up with some spare 10's (no top E though

) I had kicking about- after some trussin', filin' and tweakin', I managed to get it to play pretty well. It's pretty loud acoustically, the neck and tuners ain't bad at all!

Gonna send the scratchy off tonight/tomorrow for Hurb to work his routing magic. Hopefully when I'm away for the next few days, the 3-way will turn up and I'll be able to get my shit in one shiny, black sock!

I'm so glad you removed the plastic from the pickguard, that is there to protect the guard when the router goes over it.

That one wasn't quite snug, so I stuck the saddles in a different bridge- now it's poifect

Its not a big deal really. I will have to make a template anyway, so just draw round the pickguard on a piece of paper and and mark the pickups on the paper where you want em.
