what i had in mind was the extra toggle and extra switch on the pedal but i would have to see how space goes once i get it.
i wonder what would happen though if instead of the toggle that guy in the photo put a latching switch.

I'm pretty sure most of it is covered by PCB, I've seen gutshots. Very tight.

If he put a latching switch in it would mean tap tempo would not work unless you double click (on and then off), the DSP is using a spike to sample the tempo points. Basically I think it will break tap tempo definitely and probably even lock up the the chip in a worst case scenario.

i think i will just replace the switch as a start, then.
if i ever find that i really need tap tempo functionality i will try to go with the solution of the toggle and external momentary switch (i already have one tiny et.pedal with 2 momentary switches)

whats wrong with modifying your equipment according to your needs. this pedal is aiming at a market of thousands, its not possible to satisfy 100% all of them as everyone has different perception and way of working.
i know i may seem a bit picky, but im just trying to get the most out of it.

this is called one-shot playback or stutter and the SMM w/ Hazarai doesnt do that.
as far as i know only the Boss RC-2 does it but after you have stored the loop, which in live situation is impractical

ok,i got the hazarai which is delightful.
just did a quick test and it turns out that what someone could assume from this photo is indeed true.
Image

the loop is being recorded for as long as the first two solder joints are connected (thats why this guy connected the toggle on there)
so from what i can understand the pretty simple thing to do to have press start/stop looping but keep tap tempo as well would be to
move the existing switch on the side of the pedal (horizontially*) and in its place put a simple latching switch that is connected with those two
solder joints for looping, no? please correct me if im wrong

*also, i was wondering is there is some sort of button-type momentary switch which will be easy to press with one finger instead of this metal one? is anyone aware of anything like that?

Yup that would totally wor, just put the switches in parallel electronically.

Push to make pushbutton switches are easy to buy and very small.

I'm considering splashing out on one of these, the official EHX demo makes it seem very cool indeed. It's either one of these or a DL4. Hmm.

so, here is the modified version. loop starts when you press the record (should remove word tap) switch and stops when you press again, which means you dont have to keep it pressed WHILE recording.

tap tempo is controlled by a nice little button on the side of the pedal.

also added a led so you know you are recording. when on it matches with the beams design.

i was planning to install an internal boost to help with the volume drop issue but the pcp is layered and complex to do that for now.

nice mod!
can you use the tap tempo when playing by hitting it with your foot?
or would have you to press it with your hand?

i cant say i ever really had a problem with holding down to record a loop, but the light for if a loop is stored is great.

i have on occasion turned my hazarai on onstage totally forgetting about to wipe the loop from the previous song.
making me look like a dick.

Thanks for posting pics, really nicely executed and glad it's working out for you.

Stick it in a TB loop with a booster after it?
