I prefer Mexican re-issues of 70s fender stuff to actual 70s fender stuff. The neck pockets aren't shit.
Also Fender US released the "AV '70" strat where they've basically made a 70's strat built to pre-CBS specs, nitro finish, staggered beveled polepieces, etc...
MIM Classic 70s strats are the ultimate IMO right now, I'm literally not bothered with any other Strat until you get up into AV territory like, at all.
