No.

Get a Danelectro Cool Cat or a Tunamelt Tremolo. They don't suffer the volume drop and have great hard or soft tremolo sounds.

as mike said, both the dano's are a lot better and easier on the pocket than a TR-2. if your on a really tight budget, the behringer ultra trem is a tr-2 clone and i haven't noticed a volume drop on it.

I was just using my Behringer Ultra Trem not five minutes ago and not only is there not a volume drop, but it is quite lovely. I'm pretty sure it only cost me Â£13 delivered as well. Quality.

mine too, it's a great pedal. i'm thinking of building mine in to my old crybaby housing.

I like the TR2, bought mine 2nd hand for Â£15, fixed vol drop for 8 pence. Dano's Tuna Melt is also nice.

I think you clip a capacitor or something, so instead of being too quiet and dull it's too brash.

Just get a second-hand Dano: great pedal.

Cowbell and Holycats have done the mod, i've never tried it myself but it just involves swapping one of the resistors...

i haven't done it yet, i have to get a new tip for my soldering iron before i go near that tiny circuit board.

but the mod seems simple enough.

There are a lot of good trem's out there, best thing is to go out & try a few & form your own opinion. Obviously the internet is a great place to get an idea of the pros & cons to watch out for but you also get a lot of people commenting on gear they have had no experience with just typing what they may have heard elsewhere. Plus what sounds right to one person is wrong for another etc etc
