i just saw someone does DL4 mods. i must say, if it's one thing i like about the DL4 the most, its the color & the design: it seems to really stand out on a pedal board. i kind of prefer the original green look myself.

there is a noticeable volume drop when you loop things. not w/ the delay itself.

the preset thing. i mean i am pretty much a stick & stay type dude w/ certain delays so having a bunch of presets doesn't really make sense for me personally.

anyway. i think people should get the Line 6 DL4.

ahh, yea i must say i have realised that that it does sometimes seem quieter when looping live. although i wasnt sure if this was due to the band playing louder when i was looping something clean. anyway i have a booster pedal on my board for use with a kaoss pad mini which i just use if i feel i need to boost the loop

yeah i was reading somewhere in the manual earlier this morning that the repeats knob affects the volume of the loop: Set the REPEATS knob to 12 o'clock and you will hear a 50% volume drop in the previously recorded loop. Again this only occurs while overdubbing.

i don't know if this has anything to do w/ it or not becuz i have not investigated it yet.

anyway. i think people should get the Line 6 DL4. i recommend that pedal.

i might just have to test that out, still havent figured out everything with this pedal.

DL4's in australia retail for around AUD$700 and due to hearing that a lot of people had to take them back to get fixed i didnt want to buy from ebay and not have a warranty. smmwh cost me AUD$240 delivered.

The DD-20 is out because i just really don't like it.

What don't you like about it? The answer to that will probably help people suggest a useful option than knowing what you like about the ones you do.

Good Idea. Its just to complicated to recall the presets I want on stage, ease of use is a big thing for me, I mean sure in a studio its fine, but live I need something i can operate with ease. Its a little to complicated, i think that they sound great. but its just a little complicated.

Eh? What's complicated about it? You can have 4 completely independent presets (5 if you include the current 'manual' setting) and the only complicated thing about recalling them is having to stamp on the right hand pedal instead of the left.

that is actually near what i paid for mine. its like the most i've every paid for a guitar pedal. i really investigated it for a bit. researched. & narrowed it down to the Digitech Hardwire Delay, the Line DL4 & the EHX SMMwH. (Timebender did not exist yet.) its my first proper delay pedal & i actually wouldn't mind a 2nd one if i could snag it for around $150 or less but for now one is fine.
