Apples & Oranges

Post by Fran »

As dots said.
Time for a bit of a consensus concerning shortscale amplification.
What is your MAIN amplifier? The one you use the most.

I've not made a huge list on the poll to keep it simple. So try and be brief, thread does'nt need 17 pictures of your 3 back-up amps ;)

I voted Marshall, but is a tricky question for me, the actual answer is:
Band: Marshall
Home: Fender

Main amp is out of commission, Fender Blues DeVille. Borrowed amp is '65 RI Twin. I do not like it .

Peavey Valveking 110.

I use both about the same, so I can't vote. Where is the Sloan option?

Fender Princeton Chorus, never heard of this model, found it used for $185 (if I'm correct), it has a great on board chorus effect, and I still can't find any info on this amp.

My little 10W Orange amp is great for fingerstyle.

I have a 100W Yamaha jazz amp thing that does my loud stuff for now - If I had to get a new amp, it'd be a Marshall because I like their clean sound.

I use my Fender DeVille 212 for band stuff but at home I have been using a Trace Elliot Vellocette and have totally fallen in love with the tone. Its the only one I've ever seen in white aswell.

I had to vote 'other' because my amp is a cross between Fender and Marshall. Twin Reverb chassis and speaker case with JCM 800 guts inside of it.

Peavey Studio 112 Transtube.
Replacing it with some kind of tube/solid state amp sometime soon.

I was going to do a big, bold post advocating Marshall, but that'll do.
