Do you own guitars you don't play?

I have quite a few that I don't play, I feel like I need to sell a few off. Since I played bass in my last band for 2 and a half years, and every project that I'm involved with right now I am also playing bass, except for one acoustic project, I haven't played my electric guitars much lately. When I play guitar I pretty much always go to my acoustic. I have a few electrics that I play somewhat regularly:

'72 Tele deluxe RI
'95 MIA standard Strat
Gibson SG standard

I have a few more that are currently in pieces awaiting the day that I actually get around to fixing some wiring problems that I will probably play when I get them fixed, and a couple that I don't play very often but because of sentimental attachment I can't bring myself to sell.

But then I have my Univox hi-flier that I bought about a year and a half ago and have honestly only played it maybe twice. I feel bad having it and not putting it to use, so I might be selling that one pretty soon. I also have a fender tom delonge that i plan on selling and a squier tom delonge as well. I pretty much just bought those two cheap on craigslist with the intention of selling them for profit.

oh yea... and as far as basses I have two that I play all the time:

'08 Fender American standard P bass
Fender standard MIM jazz bass (customized with Seymour Duncan quarter pound p bass and j bass pickups and badass II bridge)

And three that don't really get played much:
Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray - this used to be my favorite before I bought the P bass, I outgrew my taste for active basses. I thought about selling it but I can't bring myself to do it cause I saved up for it for so long when I was in high school and it was my first major purchase that I saved up for myself (before I bought my car).
'78 Fender Musicmaster bass - this spends most of it's time in it's hard case. I got a crazy good deal on it on craigslist and I love it, but I don't want it to get fucked up, I take it out and play it probably a couple times a year, but never live. It stays in my home at all times.
Epiphone p bass copy - this was my first bass, it's beat to hell, covered in stickers, and currently in pieces, the neck is fucked up and no replacement necks fit it, but I can't bring myself to sell it since A) it was my first bass and B) the beat up body that no necks work on probably won't be worth anything

Right; I have a Epiphone LP Special that I'm rebuilding but need a lot of parts for. The guitarist in my old band decided to destroy his cheap piece of shit guitar, so I recovered the body (neck was snapped) to convert into an off-set guitar. I've roughly reshaped the body, but still have to strip it, do the finish routing/cutting, get a new neck and replace at least one of the pickups

all i play is my blue mustang, white bronco, and my blue fender acoustic. the other 20 guitars just sit around in the rack, on the wall, or under the bed in cases

I just sold the only guitar I never play, the Oscar Schmidt Delta King.

Between the Jazzmaster, the Cyclone II and my beat to shit '83 Fender F-15 acoustic, I think that I still have the time and legitimate need for a decent humbuckered guitar but only ever so slightly. I realize that despite all of this, I'm very much a guitar monogamist. I tend to always want to play my Cyclone II, even in applications obviously better suited to the Jazzy. As much as I love it, I can't rule out selling the Jazzmaster one day. The Cyclone is home, it's me.

Rickenbacker 330 - My main guitar in The Relics. Waited forever to own one, now that I have it it's hard not to pick up.

Danelectro DC-12 - My only 12 string so I naturally use it in the band. I like it enough to not run out and buy a more expensive 12 string.

Hagstrom Viking II - Just finally got it repaired after it being on the mental chopping block for about 3 years. I love it now that it's structurally sound and will probably alternate it with the Ric

Ovation Tornado - Simply the best guitar I've ever owned. I might want to change out the GFS pickups I have in it eventually, but I bring it to practice and open mics a lot.

Danelectro Convertible - This one is Lauren's but it's my go to acoustic if I'm absently playing guitar around the house or songwritting.

Gibson Les Paul Studio - What can I say? Tastes change. I went through a phase. I still love the guitar, it plays like a dream and has amazing tone, which makes it hard to consider selling, but really it stays under the bed in its case and I pull it out once every 3 months or so to make sure it's still there. I'll probably decide to sell it eventually.

Rogue Electric Sitar - When I bought this I was the third guitarist in the band and was trying desperately to find any excuse to play guitar instead of keyboard most of the time. I have plans to use it on the next album but I really wish I spent that $350 on a bass or used accordion instead.

Ibanez Blazer - Kind of wish I wasn't so sentimental. I should have sold it before I put even more money into it. It's really not me anymore. It's so pretty though, for what it's worth after all the mods I did to it (and the amount of wood I hacked away under the pickguard), I guess I'd just as soon keep it. It'll probably stay in its tweed case until I either sell it or decide to rejuvenate it yet again.

Windsong Acoustic/Electric - It's an acoustic, it's in my house, I play it wishing I had bought myself something nicer, or at least a cheap guitar with a brand name that would have resale value.

i only have 2, the tele deluxe custom is used more, but i play the super sonic a lot to. the main reason i use more the tele s because i prefer the sound of it's humbucker. That's actually why i'm selling the supersonic, to get a single coil guitar

now, i primarily play my mustang and my art & lutherie acoustic. will sell my cheap lp copy to pay for some stuff. those are all of my guitars for now.

Similar to the lay out of Hotrod's post, I found it easier to list.

Play:
Jazzmaster, Both Lefty Mustangs, Hollow body, and Acoustic.

Occasionally play:
White Right handed Mustang.

In pieces:
Black Ibanez Electric. Needs repair and then it will be with the others again.

I have been thinking of selling my white mustang, don't think I would get much, because it has a huge gash in it, and has been routed (cleanly I might add) for a humbucker, but I mean, I think some Kurdtz kid will get as much joy as I do from it.

Should add that I've started giving a bunch of mine away. I'm down to 1 acoustic now, for example, from maybe 5.

With stuff you feel emotionally attached to sometimes it's easier to just give it away than sell it. Kinda weird.

Main Guitars:
Fender Classic Player 60's Strat:this is my main guitar, the one i always go or go back to. nearly sold it, glad i stuck with it. it's rewarded me with some amazing sounds, both clean and dirty. it's the guitar that brought me back to fender/single coils.

Fender Classic Player Baja Tele:I play this a fair bit and use it live as well as the strat. there's some songs we play that only sound right with the tele.

Occasional Guitars:
Fender CIJ 65 reissue Mustang:my first proper shortscale, great playing guitar, used it for a lot of the band's early gigs. just wish the pickup's were more like my strat/tele. trading it in for something else.

Epiphone Les Paul Goldtop:always wanted a goldtop, which i think is one gibson's nicest les paul models. used for heavier stuff, though not really been needed it.

Gibson Melody Maker with p90:got this to replace my sg jr. great guitar for the money, real nice crunchy sound. use it for slide a bit. it's being sold very soon.

Never Played:
Epiphone Emily The Strange SG:brought this years ago when i was well into gibson style guitars. never got playing 100% how i wanted it to and since getting better guitars, sits in it case. going up on ebay next week.

Gibson/Baldwin SG:crap argos special, looks ok though. brought it on a whim and should of got rid sooner. also going on ebay next week.

Acoustics:both my squire acoustic and my samick 12 string are sat in cases doing nothing. i'm not really an acoustic player and the 12 string needs work on it. probably give them away at some point.

Squire Parts P-Bass:back from when i played bass, kept around for if i wanna put bass on demos etc. probably sell/trade it at some point.

In Pieces:
Daisy Rock Retro H 12 String:Great 12 string for little money, had damage on the body and got messed around by andertons over it. took the pickups out to fit in the goldtop and never replaced them. planning to fit some new pickups and used it live for beatles/crowded house stuff.
