i may have come off as an ass. it just sucks to set everything and be like, "awsome, this will work out just fine for him" and then you get it, and it doesn't, its a bit of a let down for me as well.
and confusing as hell to me as to why there is that much of a difference between a mim strat neck vs. an allparts neck, but i guess thats life sometimes.

Decal just went on, decided to just eyeball it, how hard can it be?
i think it turned out nicely

I'm loving the tint so far, i'll probably go a bit darker still

back in the closet until it warms up a bit more today, then another coat goes on

bridge pickup route needs to be moved down about 3/8ths or so, neck pocket needs to be slightly adjusted for the neck, pickguard needs to be adjusted around the heel

My dad and i will do body work as soon as he is free next. I'm doing the neck now due to unemployment/free time.

Feels good to make progress after nothing for a few months.

Wet sanded the neck down to 1000 grit, going to treat the fretboard with tru-oil if i can find any

after the tru-oil treatment i'll do some polishing and the neck will be finished.

Its a fairly thin finish of the tinted nitro but it still has a nice amber colour to it so i think it will age nicely.

you gotta go to a gun store for the tru-oil. or maybe the sports department in walmart might have it?

it will make things glossy though, not really the same as using lemon oil or whatever, which just makes it nice and dark. whatever you want to do I guess.

i really like the look and feel of ebony so i'm definitely going for a darker look

shouldn't have any problems finding a gun shop in oklahoma

i kinda like the glossier feel to a neck, the musicmaster neck i picked up has had tru-oil appplied and its a great feel. If i like my results i'll apply it to my strat's fretboard as well

i heard that lemon-oil can corrode the wood slowly or something to that degree. probably just gibberish though i know loads of people who keep that stuff in their guitar case

i guess i need the skinny on the neck tinting (for jazzuar). does it come in a spray can? or a paint can? do you brush it on or spray it on?

you should've just tinted mine when you had it

I used Reranche's tinted nitro, comes in an aerosol can. It's not the best job, it has two runs towards the heel end but i sanded down what i could. I'm pretty happy with it though, the colour is great.

Didn't find any tru-oil at the wallmart last night so i borrowed some Kyser Lem-Oil from a friend.

Did about an hours worth of hand polishing on the neck and decided to call it quits after i couldnt feel my thumb anymore.
Then i decided to buust out the POWER TOOLS

Turned out really nice! Nice and glossy without being too slick or two sticky.

I used Nitro safe polish, i wouldnt suggest using automotive polish because it might not react well with the nitro

Trigger clamp with nice rubbery bits on the end for pressing the ferrules

i'm surprised by that lemon oil stuff, the thing feels like its going to be a beauty to play. Need to set goal, must finish by midwesstfest so everyone can add mojo

neck joint neets to come in about 3/16" on the corners, bridge pickup needs to be moved down about 1/4" and then the body is ready for prep

i'll also be cutting a pickguard for the tiesco-type guitar and dropping a humbucker in, that'll be interesting
