Should I get a 5-way switch for my strat?

I got this '74(?) strat. it has a 3-way switch. To get the 2 and 4 position sounds I have to wedge in between settings.It works good
like that but I worry that it might wear out the original switch if I do it often. Should I get a 5-way switch?

if everything on the guitar is stock i say no.


get a squier bullet for 100 bucks if you want a 5 way. it makes the same sonds as your 74' (SHOCKING) and it has a 5 way

if its all stock keep it that way, especially considering how often you flip instruments, it'll be easier to sell if its 100% original instead of "i've replaced the switch but i still have it"

this. if it is all original you need to keep the 3 way

either use a matchstick or replace the switch. the hum cancelling positions are too good to ignore.
