Purple cheapie

Post by westtexasred »

I traded a Fender Mini amp for this strat copy. It's actually not a bad guitar, the neck is nice,no sharp fret ends like most cheapies. Pickups aren't great but good enough. Tuners are good. Body is..alder? It's really light, maybe 6 lbs. Did I mention that it is Purple?

Thanks! This is one of the (cheap)guitars made by Kaman Music Corporation. That is the company that was founded by Charles Kamen the creator of Ovation guitars.Fender bought Kaman Music in 2007. Since Fender bought Kamen they changed the body of these guitars and now they look like this one below.

I do like that trans-purp Strat. Somehow just works for me. I often wish the Fender Jazzmascis had been that sort of purple, or a solid purple.

not trying to be a brat, but what's the point in owning and selling the same guitar over and over?

if you want a purple cheapie, keep an eye on amzon for when they run specials on the JT-300 strat.
They are halfway decent strats, worth more than their usual price (in the $100-$150 range), but frequently, for no reason whatsoever, they'll drop the price to like $58-70 for a day or so. It's usually the wackier colors - purple being one of them.

Here it is at $180.
It could be $65 tomorrow...
