Well i decided to sell the Charvel and pick up something that's a little more modern. I ended up getting the LTD EC 401 in white. It's not a bad guitar really. Trading an american made guitar for a Korean one, am i crazy? The guitar actually plays a lot better than my les paul, the body is very light and the upper fret access is improved.
The EMG81 and 60 and kinda meh, I was never a huge fan of them but they do sound good for metal.

There's still a hole in my heart from when i sold off my musicman JP6, and I'm not sure if the EC can fill that. It sure is a lot cheaper though.

All the ESP (and LTD) LP style guitars I've played have been really nice.
