Yeah, was especially funny here in Wellington, which is a film industry town. Half the audience at any metal gig probably work at Weta Workshop.
Lots of Peter Jackson discussion. They mentioned trying to find the Braindead house.

Re: Chat Pile Rig Rundown

Okay, so I acquired a Memory Boy, and it's a finicky little bastard (power/input gain/warms up?). Doesn't sound quite like Chat Pile on Manhole's settings for me (feeds back much earlier for one).

The modulated reverb is doing half the work of making everything sound chorus-y.
The MB is doing a ...

Re: Anyone ordering a chase bliss Lost + Found?

Yeah, they were really pushing up against the limits of their form factor with this one. Alt functions are deeply annoying.

I still have mine, have been tempted to sell, but I have gotten some use out of the more "boring" modes. Useful having a chorus, the tape delay actually sounds great next to ...

Re: Jazzmaster/Coronado Neck Project

I have several bronco-esque knobs I scored from Sloan about 15 years ago that I only recently found. If you're interested, I'll post pics. They don't have numbers on them, just an arrow as I believe they were pulled from an old fender PA amp.

That's kind of you to offer! I think I want ...

Re: Jazzmaster/Coronado Neck Project

Cheers guys!

This is my first jazzmaster, so having fun learning all the setup tricks everyone figured out on here a million years ago.

I might end up changing the witch hats out. They're a little proud for my usual strumming position.

All wired up! Just needs intonating. Will wait a bit for the neck to settle before I tweak the rest of the setup, but feels pretty good considering I just whacked it together and eyeballed the level of the bridge etc.
One thing I didn't mention was I ...

Re: Jazzmaster/Coronado Neck Project

Okay, have now sourced all the parts.
Got some USA thimbles, plus some black screws for mounting the rhythm circuit to go along with the blacked out pickguard screws.

Ordered cream witch hats and a wiring harness from a UK reverb store. I won’t recommend/name them however since they took nearly ...

Re: SUNN BETA MINI OHH MY FUCKIN GODDDDD

I'd say the model T is more iconic, but that's because they used to be cheap.

It's the sound of Red Fang and the Melvins (live) though.

Hilbish Amps have been selling the beta preamps for 600, and their 200 watt heads are much more.
They also did the preamp in pedal form but have discontinued it ...

Nice, I picked up a cheap Korg tape echo last year, and the deal was too good to be true. Asked a few questions of the seller after it turned up and he dropped the comment that "it always sounded great until it blew up". lol.

Haven't found a good tech yet.

Re: Strangz (strings for the g'itar)

Yeah I like a wound G too, and probably tension on the spongier side. but I've been less fussy lately. After doing silly custom things and swapping out particular strings I usually just stick the d'addario D tuning set on most of my guitars. 11-56, and mostly all in d standard. I've got a bunch of ...

Jazzmaster/Coronado Neck Project

Started to pick up parts for my much delayed JM project.

A few years ago I spotted an interesting mongrel for sale locally, seemed to be the result of a Coronado getting smashed back in the day with the remaining parts and neck bolted onto an old Guyatone/Teisco body.
I nabbed it with the intention ...
